Six Acres Wines

Nestled in the southern hills of the Yarra Valley, Six Acres is a boutique winery and vineyard owned and operated by the Zuccaro Family, with the aim to produce bright, textural and complex wines in a way that maximises the expression of the quality and terroir of their hand-tended vineyard.

The family's winemaking techniques involve minimum intervention with majority being unfined and unfiltered -  making their wine vegan friendly.

The Six Acres vineyard consists of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, and is dry grown in deep red volcanic soil. The yields are kept low to encourage balance and concentration within the grapes, and they place an emphasis on moving towards organic and sustainable growing.

Viticulturally, the family only use organic sprays, and promote natural grasses in an uncultivated permanent sward. In addition, they are developing a composting and mulching program to maximise the health of their soils.

A visit to Six Acres will almost certainly involve being greeted by a Zuccaro family member as they emerge from the rows of vines or from the barrel shed.
